Simply beautiful, on foot (premium hiking trail W3), but also by bike. There are great places to stop for a break and pedal boat rental to take the Patschel across the lake.

The bike path between Venekotensee and Schwalm is perhaps the more attractive one, but on the other hand it is no less beautiful.
