A round tower, popularly known as the "door tower" because halfway up there is a distinctive donkey-back-shaped doorway that can only be climbed using a ladder. The door tower, which is equipped with a protruding round arch frieze at the top and whose roof no longer exists, served together with the aul tower to defend the north-east corner. It stood exactly in the middle between the Aulturm and the north entrance of today's Leiselheimer Straße, the »Herrnsheim Gate«, which was demolished in 1820, along with the »Monsheim Gate« in the west and the »Worms Gate« in the south. The ceiling of the door tower was last sealed in 1984 with proceeds from the first old town festival and urgent security measures are currently being carried out on the parapet and the masonry.
