Singing Bunny by Carmen Stahlschmidt 2012
The statement by the French composer Paul Satie, “Can you hear the rabbit singing?” Became the impetus for the work of the artist, who lives in Oppenheim.
The hare, abstracted in its shape, looks very natural and immensely lively. It allows for a wide range of associations, from the mythical creature “Master Lamp” to the Easter bunny. Last but not least, the hare, as an original steppe animal, is part of the cultural landscape of Rheinhessen.

The shrine "Heiliger Kilian" by Gustav Nonnenmacher 1972
The shrine, first mentioned in 1650, is a testimony of religious tradition. For the pilgrims of the Rhine Hessian Way of St. James, he became a place of worship. In 1972, the old shrine, which can still be seen in Abenheim's museum, was replaced by "Heiligen Kilian", a sculpture made of shell limestone by Worms sculptor Gustav Nonnenmacher.
The patron saint of winemakers, who is otherwise rather unusual for our region, blesses transient people with his raised hand. He is equipped as a bishop with miter and staff, next to him are as an indication of his special function vine and grape.

There are always different opinions on works of art, but I liked most of the sculpture trail - except for the singing rabbit
