Hiking
Linau Castle was a three-part medieval castle. On the middle hill, the main castle, there are the remains of a round tower with 3m thick walls.
A castle called "Linowe" was first mentioned in 1291. At that time, the complex, known as the "robbers' nest", was owned by the contentious Scharffenberg noble family and was destroyed.
It may have been the "Schlossberg" near Linau-Oberteich.
After rebuilding it here on this site (1308), the Scharffenbergs
left the castle in 1345, but recaptured it in 1346 and fought the country again.
