Well rested and after a hearty breakfast, today we go to "H". After crossing the A21, we get into the motto of the day with constant up and down. In the vicinity of Dersau we reach the Großer Plöner See and start our personal 5-lake tour along the riverside paths from: Großer Plöner See - Behler See - Suhrer See - Dieksee - Kellersee. A route mostly in the forest and with a direct view of the lakes, which we can only recommend to everyone and will certainly repeat in one way or another.
Since the Uklei ferry house is not (yet) open, we drive to the "mountains" without a 2nd breakfast.
Before the last ascent, we strengthen ourselves with the whole grain bread we brought with us at a pond in the forest and listen to the concert of the frogs.
Back on the saddle, it doesn't take long until we see the transmitter mast on the Bungsberg and with momentum (but whistling on the last hole) we go over the narrow trail without dropping to the summit stone ⛰!
In the "Café & Restaurant 168 above sea level" the "Bungsbergbecher" is already waiting for us and we enjoy the warming rays of the sun on the terrace while we review the L2H Schleswig-Holstein again.
Now there is only the freestyle - the descent to Neustadt. First over a "bony" trail then over quiet back roads we come into a flow that even lets you forget the necessary ascent.
In the port there is a quick "inlet jib", then the "Regio" is already waiting for us ...
      ... L2H Schleswig-Holstein is finally done.

This weekend the wind is ideal for our project - our second L2H bike tour. Schleswig-Holstein even has the lowest landmark in Germany. On our 23 km journey from Itzehoe train station to the Wilster Marsch, the strong headwind is already demanding our first grains; After a short break, it goes from "L" with a tail wind towards "H" and we enjoy the varied journey. We are based on the route of Christo Foerster, but have adapted it in parts to the bike conditions. Nevertheless, we are already making the first "off-road" excursion in Herrenmoor, for which we are rewarded with a wonderful landscape.
We spontaneously decide against the long-distance drivers Currywurst in Heike's pit stop in Kaaks and for a noble Currywurst from Durac-Schwein in the "Wildwechsel". Now we are strengthened for the route ahead, which will soon lead us through the forest of the Aukrug nature reserve and offer enough gravel.
Even if we drive into Neumünster a bit, we basically circle the city on a southern arch that leads us on beautiful forest paths along the Stör. However, to get to the source of the disturbance, we still have to pedal a few kilometers without a cycle path on Segeberger Chaussee - clearly the lowest point of our tour; then it becomes quieter again on the side roads to the east. Shortly before Trappenkamp we head north and a few kilometers before our destination for the day in Wankendorf we crack the 💯 on the impressive Schönböken Allee - the rest is easy rolling.

When the first big raindrops explode in the sand, we pack our bikes and head home on the route of the outward journey. Although the dark wall of clouds behind us is threateningly close, we are spared the rain. When crossing (for the first time without getting off at the chicane) the L103 in Waldenau we discover a "Livotto" and take the obligatory break.
Strengthened in this way, the last few meters are as easy as a descent ...
We agree: the decision for 😎☀️⛱ was right, the tour wins bekommt

Planning for the weekend was really difficult this time: the first plan, L2H Schleswig-Holstein, was discarded due to the announced wind direction and plan 2 provided for a tailwind tour from Wismar via Lübeck. On Friday we rescheduled for our first "Orbit360 - Milky Way Mission" ...
At 06:00 the sun is already shining from the sky and at breakfast we throw all plans overboard and spontaneously decide on a bathing tour to the Elbe beach 🏖.
We don't need to work out a route, because we can drive the way past Klövensteen and Butterbargsmoor almost in our sleep 🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️.
After almost two hours of effortless travel, we have reached "our" beach on time for the high tide - however, we have to realize that the best spots have already been taken.
We make ourselves comfortable in the second-best place and enjoy our first day of swimming ...
... until the gray clouds grow higher and higher on the Lower Saxony bank and the first raindrops give the signal to set off.

On the last weekend in May, the totally rainy month would like to be reconciled with us and say goodbye with 14 hours of sunshine and 23 ºC.
We set off early and drive on the well-known route via Eidelstedt towards Klövensteen, pass the Butterbargsmoor and the Holmer Sandberge.
Then it does not go to the Hettlinger Schanze as usual, but in the opposite direction via Heist and Haselau to the swing bridge over the Pinnau. Then we “dare” to venture into new territory to bypass Elmshorn to the south. We cross the A23 and then head north, cross the Krückau and follow the Krückau hiking trail for a while, we really try the trails through the Rantzauer Forest again before we behave again in an exemplary manner on the drive through Barmstedt. Yvonne is waiting for us with coffee and cake, which we now urgently need to fill up our "storerooms".
After 2 leisurely and entertaining hours we swing back on the saddles in the direction of Heeder Forst, there we take a south course to Shirtingen, bypass the Himmelmoor and follow the Himmelmoorweg to the junction to Wulfsmühle. Behind Bönningstedt we can almost smell Hamburg and then we cross the border at the Wendlohe golf course. Bicycle traffic increases abruptly along the Kollau - how must it have been a few hours ago ...
Now just a little bit through St. Ellingen and we have already finished our Sunday lap. We are reconciled with the May weather - so it can go on!

Today we are a little late and don't get on the saddles until 3:00 p.m. We first head for the "ice cream factory" - unfortunately, contrary to other information, it is not yet open - then we go comfortably on our little northern house tour through the Niendorfer Gehege.
The sun already has so much power today that we can finally speak of "pleasure cycling" again. So let the strong green, which gives the familiar paths a completely new appearance, calmly pass us by. We still have to bypass a few puddles, but the forest paths are so easy to drive on that Gitte's "Range" only imperceptibly decreases.
Then a brisk drive along the runway, a crossing of Stellingen with a cold tour ending at the "Ice Age".

Today on Whit Monday it should finally stay dry and the sun can also be seen; In addition, east wind is popular - so one of our annual top 10 tours is on the daily schedule: “Aperol Spritz am Zollenspieker”.
We take the direct route through the city to get to the Oberhafen Canal quickly, because from here we can drive to Moorfleet without any cars. At least now we have to realize that we are not the only ones today who have decided on this route. The cycle path over the Elbe island Kaltehofe has meanwhile become a busy “race track” (for cyclists what the loop around the Outer Alster is for joggers).
From Moorfleet we take the road over the Moorfleeter dike along the Dove Elbe; we think it is one of the most beautiful old “dyke roads” and car traffic is actually limited here. From Curslack it goes dead straight on the former railway embankment towards Zollenspieker, and immediately the number of cyclists in both directions increases again significantly.
Since we also kept the number of strokes high on the headwinds, we have sufficient need to rebalance the fluid balance. With a short wait we get a “place in the sun” 🍹 and enjoy the lunch break with a view of the Elbe.
To jump over the Elbe we take the ferry and then it gets "fun" - with a noticeable tail wind we drive the next 15 km along the dike and enjoy the speed more than the landscape. The landscape then gets even more attention on the Schlenker over Moorwerder to the entrance to Wilhelmsburg. Today we cross the place in an unusual direction along the "Wilhelmsburger Dove Elbe" and finally drive again on familiar terrain through the harbor towards the "Alter Elbtunnel". From the landing stages we go directly to the fish market, then we follow the fast main streets (except for the numerous traffic lights), because the first rain droplets announce the forecast change in weather.

Today, because of the gray weather, it shouldn't be a “photo safari” but rather a “tight” tour. But when we discovered the small flock of sheep, I had to pull out the iPhone and the snapshot under the AKN bridge should stand for today's motto ...
But first things first: As always, we start with an opening around the Ziegelteich, and then take the familiar path towards Niendorfer Gehege and then along the Kollau course north. The weather forecast has lured a lot more walkers outside again today, but the further we go, the freer the path becomes. Along the Ohechausse and Segeberger Straße we cross Norderstedt, which we will certainly not repeat on the next tour in this direction. From the Tangstedter Weg it becomes almost a racing bike experience; with a tailwind we drive in a duo almost at the limit to Wilstedt. Even after Wilstedt through the Oberalsterniederung the side roads remain car-free; for this we come across a lot of cyclists and an inline skater. After a short stretch along Norderstedter Straße, we can turn back onto a side road and soon we will reach our destination for the day - the headwaters of the Pinnau.
We are in such good shape that we seamlessly start our way back. The headwind is now noticeable, so only slipstream helps. In addition, the route leads us mainly through wooded areas. In an open field we suddenly discover a flock of sheep doing outdoor sports - we then use the photo session for a short break despite the occasional raindrop. There is no rain and we get back on the saddle. The rest of the way leads us on familiar paths, mostly through the forest and always away from the busy roads, so that we almost get into a "flow" until the city has us again from Hagenbeck's zoo.
