The Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch is a dance ensemble founded in 1973 by the choreographer Pina Bausch and directed until her death in 2009. Since April 2013 Lutz Förster is the director of the theater. The city of Wuppertal holds 95% of the GmbH and 5% belong to Salomon Bausch, the son of the deceased artist. Due to the poor budget situation of the city of Wuppertal, the theater was closed at the end of the season 2012/2013 on 30 June 2013, so that this venue is no longer available.
