Today I decided on a tour to Leverkusen and Bergisch Gladbach. I tried to incorporate as many forest and field paths as possible... and collect 8 Squadrats along the way.
Everything turned out as desired. Even the sun was shining and the temperature was relatively pleasant. However, the gravel portion could have been larger.

A short ride while the sun is rising.
Headed out west, past through Safnern, rode along the Aare and crossed the river via the wooden bridge in Büren. From there circled back to Dotzingen and then to Scheuren from where I continued back along the river to Nidau and then Biel.

Morning hours are the best for cycling ... in my opinion.
Went out early and had a chance to see the sun rise over Bielersee. Also had to 'endure' more climbing on the first 5km than during an entire month cycling in Shanghai. I don't think it will ever become my strong point. Also glad I had the Gravelbike
