Strolling along the Ouchy promenade today, almost nothing reminds of the origins of this place. In the past, Ouchy was little more than a small fishing village, which then grew together with the ever-growing metropolis of Lausanne in the mid-19th century and has now developed into its tourist center. The sculpture "Eole", which is omnipresent at the harbor, is probably the most famous photo motif of the district. It is a kind of wind vane, which is oriented differently depending on the prevailing wind direction.

“Éole” Sculpture, Port of Ouchy, Lausanne
"Éole" is a monumental and light weather vane located at the entrance to the port of Ouchy, gently rocked by the winds. On the quay, four monoliths dialogue with it, indicating which wind is blowing.
