The "Allegories of the German Streams", which are arranged in a semicircle around the Triton Fountain, date from 1874 and once belonged to the ensemble of figures of the then newly built Königsbrücke, which led across the Königsgraben on Alexanderplatz and was demolished a short time later when this was sacrificed for the construction of the Stadtbahn. The well-known royal colonnade belonged to the bridge, which had to leave its location in 1910 and today stands at the entrance to the Kleistpark.
