The name was given in 1882 in connection with the construction of the Reichstag building. The White Crosses memorial on the banks of the Spree at Friedrich-Ebert-Platz next to the Reichstag building in Berlin commemorates those who died at the Berlin Wall. The memorial was first on the east side of the Reichstag on a fence in front of the Wall and then on the south side of the Reichstag on a fence in the zoo.

Very successful building complex directly on the Spree. In the evening with light the sight is even better.
