Gasthof Waldmühle Freienfels

The Gasthaus Waldmühle is located in the idyllic Wiesenttal. Here in the northern Franconian Switzerland you can still find pure nature. Whether you are hiking or climbing or cycling, there is something for everyone. In the beer garden it is easy to stay in the summer. Located on the Wiesent you can not feel the heat. It is not for nothing that the inn is called "Einkehr zum kühlen Grund".

In addition to the delicious fish dishes (trout from our own rearing), home-made cakes and tarts are also to be recommended.

Really nice rest stop. Delicious hearty food 🥘 with idyllic beer garden 🍻 directly on the headwaters of the Wiesent. 🦆 Especially recommended the trout. 🐟 Smoked in salad or freshly prepared, but order one day before!

Very good price / performance ratio. Behind the restaurant is a campsite. Very well maintained sanitary rooms and peace and serenity. Bad to no Wi-Fi. In the buildings WLAN signal is full. In the village there is no supermarket, the nearest is in Hollfeld. Bread orders can be placed in the restaurant. In Freinefels there is also a bus stop.

Unfortunately, like every restaurant, November 2020 was hit by the Corona Lockdown.

Super nice, cheap and relaxed campsite on the Wiesent. The sanitary facilities are modern and well maintained, there is also a camping kitchen with kettle and seating. A vending machine offers cool refreshments after a hard hike :). We had a great time here.
