    Tips

    May 1, 2017

My hike starts at the Wanderparkplatz in Weidenbach. After a 800m long, slight ascent, it continues on the left hand on the P16 steadily rising. After another 2.1km you reach the Rachelsberg. Here are a few benches with table, they invite you to rest. The view opens into the valley to Asbach, on the opposite side you can see "The Nose" another rewarding destination on the premium trail P16. Further to the left you can see Bad Sooden Allendorf. Since there is always a strong wind up here, it is recommended to take a jacket with you. From the Rachelsberg, after about 100 m, you descend steeply to the crossroads with other hiking trails, of course the P16 and also to the ruin Altenstein, a ruin locked because of dilapidatedness. But you still get along pretty well. Tip - behind the ruins you have a magnificent view of the valley to Asbach. At the described crossing, I took the first right. This leads comfortably back to the parking lot.

A wonderful resting and viewing point that offers a fantastic panorama. The crisp climbs on both sides are definitely rewarded here! A break is ordered here! 😉

We used the space for a snack. We rewarded ourselves for the ascent with a beer😎
