For me, the Geisloch cave is the most beautiful of the cave tour. What you absolutely need is sturdy shoes and no inhibitions about clay or healing earth 😜. It is a former show cave and was previously known for the mining of healing earth. At times there is a small cave lake (12x5 meters) in it. The lake was present on our visit today.

The Geis-Loch-cave is closed until 1.4. You should not commit your gorgeous sinter basins! Beautiful mountain bike route from Plech to drive. To be found in the "App" BikeGuide Franconian Switzerland No. 52

The peaceful Geißloch cave is a very characteristic cave for Franconian Switzerland. By weathering about 155 - 135 million years ago, the resulting Kalkschichten were gnawed. The Wiesent with its tributaries sawn in, hard dolomite rocks stopped and cavities like the Geißlochhöhle (but also with stalactites) formed.

I recommend to bring flashlights and not to underestimate the cave. We were already after exploring the corners of the main room, which does not work without a flashlight, disoriented, and saw the exit no longer. Only systematic searching brought us out. Sounds silly, but was a lesson to us.

The cave is also a bat settlement and therefore closed in the winter with grating. The way 12 meters down into the cave can be quite slippery. Through an opening you creep through. The main room opens up and you can walk in two different directions (flashlight!). It also hides a lake in it. The rear part has already collapsed. Attentive observers see a hole from the outside.

The cave is closed in the winter with grating, there bat quarters. Caution in the cave, slippery floor, flashlight duty. In the back there is a lake that rises depending on the rainfall. However, part of the cave has already collapsed. A guided hike can possibly get over the Plecher home club.

The Geisloch is over 100 meters long. The entry is tight and must be handled in a squat. Good flashlights are important. The mobile lamp is not enough. It is very smooth and uneven. Good to see where you step.

The Michelshöhle is great, the climb is definitely worth it

The cave can be committed at your own risk. In winter it protects animals and is therefore closed from 1.10 until the end of March. Or. you should be so smart and the animals can rest

The Geissloch can be celebrated in summer. In winter, animals sleep there. This should be respected and only go in from April to September
