Geißloch Cave near Münzinghof

To fully explore the cave you need good shoes, cave lamps and helmet, clothes that can get dirty and about 1.5 hours of your time. Depending on the weather, the cave clay is slippery to sticky. The descent to the entrance can be slippery and dangerous, especially when wet. From 1.10. until April 1st the cave is closed with a lattice. I can highly recommend the tour! There is a lot of beauty to discover! Please do not forget that a cave is a sensitive habitat even in summer! Springtails and water fleas live in the pools of water, which disappear if you trample through them carelessly.

Even the entrance is something special, slippery steps take you down, through a flat opening you get into the spacious cave landscape.
Around 1900 it was even a show cave, Heilsamer Lemm was extracted, there is also Sinderterasen and a small lake inside. And it glitters everywhere.

For me, the Geisloch cave is the most beautiful of the cave tour. What you absolutely need is sturdy shoes and no inhibitions about clay or healing earth 😜. It is a former show cave and was previously known for the mining of healing earth. At times there is a small cave lake (12x5 meters) in it. The lake was present on our visit today.
