This path, named after the painter Walter Leistikow (1865-1908), initially leads in southeastern direction in the meadow valley of the Löcknitz along the edge of the forest. The Löcknitz rises at Müncheberg and flows into Erkner in the Flakensee. Once the romantic valley was the riverbed of a glacial watercourse. As a signposted hiking trail, it circles the Wupatzsee, which is surrounded by a broad riparian zone and a reed belt. The ponds within the riparian zone are considered spawning waters for amphibians. The lake is designated as Laichschongebiet. Various species of water birds breed in the reed. The meadows on both river banks are locations of rare plant species such as orchid, hoarfrost daffodils and fever clover.Hubertus Steg
The actual hiking trail ends at the Leistikowsteg, but the hiking trail continues along the Löcknitzinsel to Hubertussteg, which crosses the old or "lazy" Löcknitz. Then the hike continues along the edge of the valley to the Oberförstereiweg in the amount of the Oberförsterei.
