On the mountain there is a 25 meter high observation tower, which is operated by 1884 founded Woltersdorfer beautification club Kranichsberg e.V. He replaced a first, 18 -meter-high tower of the club, which was built on 13 May 1886 as Crown Prince Frederick William Tower.

A visit to the tower is definitely worthwhile. First, you learn a lot about the former movie city and second, the view is great. (Bring binoculars)

Interesting lookout light. Unfortunately, the observation deck is closed with windows. Also the dirty windows are a photograph only badly possible. Otherwise, but worth a visit, if you want to climb the stairs to the top. There are interesting things to see on every podium. It is about a kilometer away from the lock.

In good weather you have a great view from the tower. The tower tells about Rüdersdorf and its role in film history. Worth seeing!
    But note the opening hours.

For a small fee, another 25 meters to 90 steps in the tower must be overcome in height to then enjoy a magnificent view to Berlin and the Müggelsee.

The two euros the club takes for promotion are well worth it. Fantastic view over the area. Unfortunately, top with plexiglas panes.

@ Atzenjan: The name "beautification club Woltersdorf" is historical. The club was founded in 1884. Woltersdorf owes this association the construction of the observation tower on the Kranichsberg and much more. As early as July 1900, the association was given the name "Beautification Association Woltersdorf e.V.". The Tadeplatz on the Flakensee beach promenade is named after a former chairman of the Woltersdorfer Beautification Association (komoot.de/highlight/1001100).
Information on the association at woltersdorfer-verschoenerungsverein.de/index.html.

The Woltersdorf observation tower is located on the 104.5m high Kranichsberg. Inside, the Woltersdorf Beautification Association (what a name) runs an active film museum. Great view over the Bauer, Flaken and Kalksee, Rüdersdorfer and Köpenicker forests. It is best to climb steeply from the direction of the lock.
