The waterfront is a popular pedestrian and bicycle path along the Rednitz.
February 19, 2017
The promenade runs along the Rednitz from the car park on Uferstrasse to the bathing jetty on Badstrasse and was completed in August 2007. The waterfront promenade was opened on August 25, 2007 with great participation from the population at the festival "City on the River: Holidays in Fürth". The city expected around 30,000 visitors on that day, but the local press estimated that twice as many people came. The cost of building the waterfront promenade was 2.4 million euros. As part of the construction of the waterfront promenade, the garden and roof of the Badstrasse cultural center were also renovated. The footpath and cycle path continues along Badsteg to Dambacher Strasse. An extension of the waterfront promenade north of the Maxbrücke, which the city would like to realize, has so far failed due to the direct residents and the ownership situation.
The promenade has, among other things, boat moorings at the former riverside pool and at the intercultural gardens. At the northern end there is a memorial plaque for the Nazi victims Dr. Rudolf Benario and Ernst Goldmann. The promenade along the Rednitz is four meters wide and currently 770 meters long. FürthWiki
