The chapel of St. Martin was a royal church on a hill in the Rednitz valley near the ford and the oldest church in Fürth. It is no longer preserved today. Its supposed location is still referred to today as "Kapellenruh" and there is a monument in its place. (For the discussion of the location of the Martinskapelle, see Chapel Rest.)Although it is still called "chapel" in Fürth today, it was a church with all parish rights, it was even a royal church. The chapel of St. Martin and later the church of St. Michael were u. a. the mother church (naming of the pastors, maintenance and administration) of St. Lorenz in Nuremberg, before the relationship between the two churches reversed and St. Lorenz became the mother church.fuerthwiki.de/wiki/index.php/Kapelle_St._Martin
