The beginnings of the pilgrim route go back to the beginning around 1683 to the veneration of Mary in Moosbronn. The prayer stations on the way are as follows: Hochkreuz Bergacker on Michelbacher Klosterweg from 1867, wayside shrine on the back from 1854, wayside shrine on Hardbergweg from 1751, wayside shrine on the Mönchkopfsattel Moosbronn) 1826.
Many thousands of pilgrims have conquered the 250 vertical meters in the past centuries, contemplative, praying or singing on the way. The pilgrimage was revived on the Michelbach side in 1978 by the local pastor Gerhard Waibel with his parish council chairman Hans Anselm.
The pilgrimage church Maria Hilf is the most famous place of pilgrimage in the northern Black Forest and has had a chapel consecrated to the Mother of God since 1683.
