On the northern edge of the Eifel - high above the widely visible red sandstone cliffs - lies the former ducal city of Nideggen. From the 12th century Nideggen with its castle was the residence of the Counts of Jülich. Nideggen offers the visitor an interesting piece of history and is at the same time a modern living and living location.The attractiveness is characterized by the lovingly maintained, historical city center and the castle Nideggen. Two well-preserved city gates with the city wall made of red sandstone dominate the silhouette and let the visitor feel the breath of the past.
