The Cottbus Gatehouse forms the park entrance for visitors coming from Cottbus and is located on the border between the inner and outer parks. It was built in 1848/49 and served as the residence of the gatekeeper, who was also the pheasant keeper. The area surrounding the gatehouse was used for breeding pheasants.

Hiking

The gatehouse is in a sleepy corner of Branitz Park. Erected in 1846, entry tickets were distributed to park visitors to determine the number of visitors. There was an office in it in the 1990s. Next to the gatehouse is a cast iron gate and behind the gatehouse is a small fenced garden.
