Hiking

The monument was dedicated to Naumann and Johann Gottlieb Neumann. He is considered one of the last representatives of "Italian opera" in Germany. Naumann was the most important musical personality in Dresden, where his Latin church music was performed in unbroken tradition until the 1930s. In Sweden and Denmark he is considered a reformer of local music life and is much better known there than in Germany.
