A symbol of Strasbourg, the Ponts Couverts includes three bridges connected to each other, in addition to several stone towers that used to serve as defenses. The bridges cross the tributaries of the River Ill. Cross the bridge during the day and come back at night to see it all lit up, reflected in the glistening water of the side branches.

Gaze up at the impressive towers, which originally date back to the Middle Ages. The bridges were first built in the 13th century and used to have wooden covers, hence the name Ponts Couverts ('covered bridges'). Discover one of the few remaining traces of the medieval defensive city.
