La Fortaleza is an iconic geographical feature in the shape of a mountain. It has a height of 1243 meters. Before the arrival of the conquerors, the natives considered it a sacred place, which they used for their sacrificial rituals. With the arrival of the Spanish, the rock massif was also used as a refuge during sieges. The ancient Canarians called the mountain Argoday, the Mighty.

Hiking

The ascent of Table Mountain is great. However, one should be sure-footed and relatively free from giddiness. You can climb the entire rock face at a short distance. Beautiful, breathtaking views. The path is in good condition and has been provided with comfortable natural stone stairs only some time ago. Just before the plateau you have to overcome a ridge that has it all. Table Mountain itself is a sacred place of the natives.
