Unlike more well-known places in Brandenburg, which Theodor Fontane described in his works, Plaue is still a real insider tip. Here the poet regularly visited his friend Carl Ferdinand Wiesike. Under "Plaue's eternally blue sky" both enjoyed nature with philosophical discussions. A 3 km long Fontaneweg was laid out in the Plaue Castle Park.
