Info wikipedia: The movement to build garden cities originated in England at the end of the 19th century. The triggers were the districts with high population numbers and poor hygienic conditions at that time. For these reasons, the architect Paul Schmitthenner planned the garden city of Staaken from 1914 and the garden city of Plaue from 1916. The builder was the Plaue cooperative.
