The nun's fountain has been known since the Middle Ages and was renewed in 1772 and 1970. In 1969 the remains of two wooden fountains were discovered near the fountain and researched by the Kurpfälzisches Museum Heidelberg. The older wooden well was built around 130 AD, the younger probably around 1200. The Roman wooden well was rebuilt true to the original.
