Hiking
The four castles, and especially Swallow's Nest, have inspired many legends and stories. Victor Hugo invented the story of the robber baron "Bligger the Scourge," who had his seat at the castle, and Mark Twain also mentions it in his "A Tramp Through Europe."
The well-preserved ruins are freely accessible, and the walkable battlements on the two-winged shield wall offer a magnificent view.
