The parish of St. Michael Dresden-Bühlau was founded in 1897. Before that, the church in Schönfeld was the spiritual center for the people in Bühlau, Rochwitz and Gönnsdorf. On October 29, 1899, St. Michael's Church was consecrated as the 'Church of the Redeemer'. Since 1949, the 50th anniversary of the church, it has borne the name of Archangel Michael. The architect of the church building was Woldemar Kandler. The church was built in the typical style of the turn of the century. Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau influences are unmistakable. In the years 1974-1980 the church was thoroughly renovated. The chronicle was created by Roland Lorenz. Texts and images in this chronicle are not permitted for commercial use.
