Since 1972 the forest has been left to its own devices and one should tread carefully and protect the core zone.
The southern hiking trail below the rocks is still reasonably visible, although on the northern side you have to walk more cross-country over fallen trees.
The Wartenberg massif is a long, interesting rock formation.
