Four-wing late Gothic complex, built 1484-1503, ruined since 1637, new museum building in 1901-1904. In terms of architectural history, the Moritzburg, consecrated to the patron saint of the archdiocese, stands between Gothic and Renaissance; it is no longer a castle in the traditional sense and is not yet a palace. From 1514 to 1541, Cardinal Albrecht used the castle complex as his residence. After the fire in the Thirty Years' War in January 1637, the castle was partially rebuilt. Today the former festival houses the Moritzburg Foundation - State Art Museum of Saxony-Anhalt.

Imposing castle complex, which today houses an art museum and a café. It is very nice to sit in front of the café with a view of the parts of the castle from different times.

There are several information boards in the inner courtyard that explain the individual parts of the building.
There is also a café with covered seating waiting for guests.
