At almost 97 kilometers, the Ostfrieslandwanderweg is the oldest and longest hiking trail in East Friesland. It starts just behind the Hoffnungskirche in Rhauderfehn and takes us via Ihrhove and Leer via Aurich to Bensersiel.
This section, marked here as a highlight, is the connection from the popular Julianenpark in Loga near the city center to the relaxing Logabirum forest. From here, the route continues via Brinkum to Holtland, where there are other interesting route planning options.
In part, the hiking trail runs over old small train tracks and is usually a tree-lined forest path, like here, occasionally paved. On the way you will also find sculptures that make the Ostfrieslandwanderweg even more interesting.
