The Stourdza Chapel was built from 1863 to 1866. The builder was Leo von Klenzes from Munich. The burial chapel was built in honor of the family of the Moldovan prince Stourdza. A magnificent building and a great place to enjoy the view over Baden-Baden.

⛪ The Stourdza Chapel is a small, elegant burial chapel on Michaelsberg Hill in Baden-Baden. It was built in 1866 by the Moldavian Prince Stourdza for his son—in the neoclassical style with a striking dome and Ionic columns.Today it belongs to the Romanian Orthodox Church and offers a magnificent view of the city.

Prince Michael Stourdza had this very beautiful Romanian Orthodox chapel built as the Prince of Moldova, today's Republic of Moldova, from 1864 to 1866 as a family tomb. The city of Baden-Baden thanked him in 1872 by awarding him honorary citizenship.
