Wild and yet so romantic, the Bodetal welcomes you. The Bode seethes in some places loud and threatening. At others, it invites you to linger, sometimes you can even get in it. Many mystical places await you there, like the Bodekessel or the Sonnenklippe. In some places, cliffs rise into the valley and you can, for example, look up to Rosstrappe and admire the huge rock massif. If you're a good watcher, you can spot birds like the dipper or the blackthorn in this valley next to the trout in the water. You can reach the Bodetal either from Treseburg or from Thale. On both sides there is sufficient, mostly paid parking. There are restaurants at both entry points and in the valley in the Gasthaus Königsruhe. The paths from Thale to the inn and from Treseburg to Sonnenklippe are easily accessible and mostly free from obstacles. In the middle part of the valley, surefootedness and attention are needed. Stones everywhere stand out of the way here and can become tripping hazards. But this wildness makes the Bodetal so fascinating.
Get out early and go. Then you have this section almost to yourself. Now and then leave the path (of course, in other ways) and you get a very different perspective.
I started in Thale at 0400.
What's stupid .... Many restaurants, even in season, at lunchtime (watch wordplay) LUNCH! !!! 😂
