The Eger has its source on the north-west slope of the Schneeberg. From the source, the Eger Cycle Path runs along the eponymous river to the Czech border. Marktleuthen is about halfway along the route. The Eger flows through the districts of Neudorf, Neumühle, Leuthenforst and Wendenhammer.
