The shaft building or greenhouse stands on the actual shaft of the 4th light hole. It is closed by steel flaps and doors. The watchtower stands on the roof covered with wooden shingles. The water art was monitored with the sound of the bell in the tower. On the first floor of the building there is still a functional hand reel from 1891. It was used to bring material and tools into the shaft. Our small exhibition is also housed here.

Very beautiful preserved system of the tunnel, which brings the old technology of mining closer.

The ensemble of buildings is a testimony to the art of miners in the Ore Mountains and the need for controlled water management in the Freiberg district. The building complex from 1844 consists of a hat house, greenhouse, wheel room chewing (with wheel rooms for the art and sweeping bikes), smithy, powder house (foundation walls), mountain pen and stockpile. The hut house was the seat of the tunnel administration.

Today the ensemble is run by the association "Fourth Light Hole of the Rothschönberger Stollns e.V." looks after [vierter-lichtloch.de] with the possibility of guided tours.

At the moment (May 2020), the fourth light hole is being upgraded as a manually usable access and escape point, according to the information on the construction site sign of the Saxon Oberbergamt.
