At this point, the side view of the Korte Cliff branches off from the Baldeneysteig trail. This is a very beautiful, approximately 700-meter-long circular trail. The short detour is rewarded with a very beautiful view.

This vantage point is below the well-known Korte cliff on the route of the Baldeneysteig and offers a great view of Lake Baldeney.

You definitely shouldn't miss the detour to the Korte cliff - probably the best view of Lake Baldeney!!! 😎📷

"...The Korte cliff is a viewing point on Lake Baldeney in the Heisingen district of Essen. It is named after the Essen horticultural director Rudolf Korte (1878–1950).
The viewpoint is located near the Schellenberg hunting lodge on the southern edge of the Schellenberg Forest and north of the Baldeneysee, the largest of the six Ruhr reservoirs, which was dammed in 1933. From this point you can see the entire lake from the dam to the transition to the Ruhr west of Kupferdreh. From there you can also see the Essen districts of Fischlaken and Heidhausen, south of the lake.
About 600 meters further west are the ruins of the Neue Isenburg. The geological hiking trail on Lake Baldeney runs below the cliff where Ruhr sandstone was once mined. ..."
