Beautiful open countryside near the city
The Schleemer Bach stream originates in Hamburg-Rahlstedt in the small Hegen forest near Rahlstedt-Ost. It flows past the Wilhelmstift Children's Hospital and, running parallel to Grunewaldstraße, also forms the state border. It then flows mostly south, past the Öjendorf Cemetery and through the Öjendorf Lake, for which it serves as both an inlet and outlet. The Jenfelder Bach and the Barsbek stream flow into the Schleemer Bach. At the border between Hamburg-Billstedt and Billbrook, near the Rote Brücke (Red Bridge), it empties into the Bille River after approximately 10 kilometers.
