This mill has a long history: The power of water has been harnessed here since 1567. In between, it burned down, was rebuilt, restored, and finally shut down in the 1970s. Until it was revived by a local association. Since then, the mill has been used for lectures, exhibitions, and concerts. Furthermore, every second Saturday of the month is Milling Day. Various millers come here and turn their organic grain into flour, which you can buy on site. If you happen to be here between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on a milling day, it's definitely worth stopping by the old mill.

Even when the Holmer Mill is not open, it always delights me with its water feature on the mill wheel. You can always see very clearly at what speed the Seeve is traveling.
