The Küstrin Fortress was located between the Oder and Warta. Built in the first half of the 16th century by Johann von Brandenburg-Küstrin (son of Joachim I Nestor of Brandenburg). Used until the end of the First World War. Also known for the beheading of von Katt (a helper of Frederick the Great in his planned escape from his father)
