In 1930, an oil mill was still operating directly at the Laufbach waterfalls, and tools (parts of the oil press) are still on display on a small platform. An information board provides information about the construction.

Sägmühleteich and Sägmühleplatz are, although extensively repaired or redesigned in the 20th century, a legacy from the time when Loffenau operated a large number of mills. – (In 1820 these were:
2 flour mills and 3 oil mills, 2 sawmills, 1 grinding mill.) An oil mill was still in operation in 1930, but fell into disrepair after it was shut down; remains of walls can still be seen on the bridge. A display board and equipment (see pictures) on the visitor platform at the Laufbach waterfalls explain and testify to this.
