The railway station in Raeren was once part of the Vennbahn and operated from 1885 to 1959 (and between 1990 and 2000). The Vennbahn linked the industrial centers of Aachen-Rothe Erde by the shortest route with Luxembourg. Today you can explore the route on a long-distance bike path. It is worthwhile to get off the bike for a moment and take a look at the abandoned graffiti-sprayed railway cars. A sign of the times, which is gradually recaptured by nature.
