The Vennbahnweg is a cross-border long-distance cycle route between Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg of approx. 130km.
It is the longest cross-border, contiguous cycle and hiking trail in Europe on disused railway lines.
    The signage is excellent.
It goes from Aachen in Germany to Troisvierges in Luxembourg. You drive through the Eifel and foothills of the Belgian Ardennes, mostly with a slight incline, mostly a very good route quality and rare interruptions.
You get to see a lot and can enjoy a lot of nature.
I already drove the Vennbahnweg back and forth, it was really worth it this multi-day tour to companies.
At the weekend, more traffic is expected, especially in the Aachen area, consideration is then required.

Goes great, even from Aachen in Rtg. Belgium (gap of 2%).

From aachen to Roetgen you don't notice that you have to overcome the difference in height of the sky ladder. You cycle gently but steadily uphill from Aachen on the best asphalt via the Vennbahn cycle path.
It is just as popular with touring cyclists as racing cyclists and walkers. Requires everyone with little consideration. Better not go on weekends.
Interesting stops at the viaduct and at the Dreilägerbach dam.

From Bütgenbach / Weywertz, a very well signposted transition to the Kyll bike path is possible, which leads to Trier. Also well paved and on an old railway line. This allows you to plan a very nice big round.

Amazingly, there is now more going on during the week than on the weekend. Either way, popular route that is used by many different types and in all genres there are candidates who think they are alone on the Vennbahn. Therefore the bell that you have on your bike should be loud 😉
