The Schmöldesee is an elongated lake in the Teupitz-Koriser lake district. A highlight is this narrow, 2.5 km long bank path on the eastern side. The path almost always runs a few meters from the water. Rarely seen such primeval pines. The opposite bank is also undeveloped except for the natural campsite. If there are no motor boats on the way (which was the case when I visited in March), you can enjoy absolute silence far from any sources of noise. Old maps show that this section of the bank was previously a restricted area. This also explains why the banks and forest are so natural. However, the path is not entirely "barrier-free", you have to use your hands in some places to climb over fallen trees. At the northern end is the "Huschtesee circular hiking trail" from Prieros (6.8 km in total).

The Schmöldesee is about 3,600 meters long and a maximum of 370 meters wide still water in the area of the municipality of Heidesee in the district of Dahme-Spreewald in Brandenburg. The natural lake, located southwest of Prieros, a district of the municipality of Heidesee, is part of the Teupitz lake chain. The lake is located between the Huschtesee in the northeast and the Hölzerner See in the southwest. The 144 hectare nature reserve Katzenberge extends south of the lake, to the east and southeast the 436 hectare NSG Streganzsee-Dahme. The Dahme, a tributary of the Spree, flows to the east.
