Really nice hike. Entry fee for the National Park is 100B.
You can hitch a red car back to Chiang Mai from Doi Suthep for 50B or walk back down.
After the waterfall there is a steep climb (~34%), you can take the a small detour if you don't feel like climbing, check the map ;)

The first 8 kilometers is just a walk on the road into the national park... It's not bad, but consider taking a grap/taxi. The rest of the hike is quite nice

The trail segment leading to the waterfalls is quite overgrown & steep - use at your own risk. Entry fee to the National Park is 100B

You can reach the trail head via the Wild Life Center. Maybe bring sneakers or something similar. Flip flops might be a bit slippery down hill, if you are not used to it...

One off-road downhill section might be a little dangerous if it has rained or one is not used to that... Maybe it's better to stay on the path when getting down the hill

I definitely recommend you to change the route a bit and go up to Doi Pui... I was a bit tired today, so I just walked the street back down, there are some nice trails you can use alternatively, but be warned: some a overgrown & a bit tricky to see...
