The old quarry is now a breeding and nesting place for numerous animal and insect species after it became a garbage dump in the 1970s.
Georg Bischof had already taken it over from his father in 1832 and ran it until 1874. In 1842 the two old schoolhouses were built with the stones and in 1854 the Protestant rectory.
