The fountain represents a selection of so-called "city originals", people who lived and worked in this city. But also the symbolic figures "cat, dog and piglet". The dogs were feared by the farmers' wives at the weekly market because they often relieved themselves in the baskets set up there and thus destroyed the market women's business.

"De Schutzmann Wiechert"
Gustav Hermann Wiechert (1849 to 1916) was a royal Prussian police sergeant and state law enforcement officer. Although he was not born here, he had a keen sense of the Kreuznach way of life. Small-time crooks were sometimes sentenced to a glass of wine (“Remischen”). Wiechert was also considered the terror of the quarrelsome market women.
