One of the most beautiful fortresses far and wide, esp. The "natural", worked from the rock keep, which falls steeply to the near, is impressive

The climb demands fitness, compensated for it with a terrific view. Unfortunately, the ruin is in a bad condition (as of May 2019). Stairs are destroyed and doors are poorly secured.

The region there has a dense network of very beautiful hiking trails. It runs nicely there during the week. The Rheingrafenstein ruins have flair.

The Rheingrafenstein ruins are located above the Nahe and Huttental valleys. Highly recommended and with a fantastic view of the Nahe valley.

Basically you should wear sturdy shoes.
The path is not suitable for strollers or people with handicaps.
The view from the viewing platform, however, makes up for any effort of the ascent.
Certainly also a highlight to enjoy sunsets - if necessary pack a delicious drop of Nahe wine in your backpack;)

If you come from the goose, you can still visit the castle ruins. The climb is a bit exhausting, but there are plenty of opportunities to rest. The view from the castle offers a view of Bad Münster and the Nahe river.
