There is an info page here:

According to rheinpfalz.de from May 16, 2019, the block should last until 2020:
"One or the other hiker or castle fan should have noticed that the large scaffolding around the castle has meanwhile been dismantled. Because" the securing work on the masonry has largely been completed, "says Claudia Renner, spokeswoman for the Landesbetrieb Liegenschafts- und Baubetreuung (LBB) in Mainz, who oversees the work.
However, a circular path around the ruins with a staircase and a footbridge as a new access to the castle are to be built to guide visitors. The historically accurate footbridge is intended to replace the previous ramp-like embankment. The tenders were running for both projects, says Renner. Problem: "The cyclical high capacity utilization of construction companies currently does not allow a forecast of when successful contracts will be awarded."

Since the ruin has only recently been opened to visitors again, the flow of visitors is quite large on weekends - especially when the weather is nice. The rush of visitors will probably decrease in the coming autumn and winter weeks.

Meistersel Castle (also called Modeneck Castle or Modenbacher Schloss) is one of the oldest documented castles in the Palatinate. It was built as an imperial castle and was later owned by the Speyer bishops. Like many imperial castles, the Meistersel developed in the late Middle Ages into a so-called Ganerbeburg with numerous owners, among whom the Diocese of Speyer and the Palatinate near the Rhine dominated.

Was nice and often at Drei Buchen, but at the time Meistersel was being renovated and therefore closed. Very successful renovation. Access redone, security work and new railings. In addition, a great view to the Rhine plain.
