Hiking

The Pottery Museum is not only worth seeing for its collection. The historic building with its Renaissance facade, formerly a Latin school, is also worth a look. Directly in front, the Swan Fountain invites you to linger. The swan is no coincidence: it belongs to the coat of arms of the von Giech family and you will encounter it again and again in Thurnau. A place to discover pottery tradition and local history.

Hiking

The Pottery Museum is housed in the former Latin school of Thurnau, which was founded in 1552 and existed until 1914. The museum opened in 1982. Its core collection is a collection of Thurnau pottery belonging to Günther and Luise Stüdemann. Numerous loans and donations supplement the collection.
