Weißgerbergasse 8 (Historic Half-Timbered House)

The most striking house in the entire street is at Weißgerbergasse 8. It stands out from the already richly decorated houses. Master painter Wellhöfer has created a monument for himself with this half-timbered house. Take a few minutes and look at the elaborate windows, decorated with gold. The same goes for the doors. A special gem. The upper floors are probably apartments, and the ground floor is a hairdressing salon. The Friends of Nuremberg's Old Town deserve special thanks for these masterpieces. They were the ones who drove the renovation of the historic half-timbered houses - often against the resistance of some citizens. (Source: nuernberg-altstadt.com)

Many streets in Nuremberg looked like the Weißgerbergasse. Unfortunately, a lot was destroyed in World War II.

House No. 8 in Weißgerbergasse is superbly renovated and wonderful to look at.
